Summary |
Bear Junction Tales are the memories of a family living at a railroad labor camp in Houston, Texas, from the 1930s to the mid-1950s. Their boxcar house stood among others within a triangle of train tracks. They experienced poverty and prejudice, yet family unity, faith, and provision gave them hope for a brighter future. The parents and children interacted with other families in the labor camp and outside with the church, the school, and a recreation park. It was a difficult life yet rewarding, full of love, learning, and fun. There was laughter and loss, stunts and seriousness. It was a unique living environment and a story worth telling and knowing. |
