Summary The third in a four part documentary series focusing on the ways the 1990s economy impacts typical Americans. This episode brings some encouraging news about public schools that are preparing youth and retraining adults for the 21st century workforce. Strategies for successful education are viewed in locations as diverse as Cincinnati, Ohio; Oakland, California; the Rio Grande Valley of southern Texas, and Shanghai, China. Each location provides proof that all children, even "disadvantaged children" are capable of learning and that displaced working people can reconnect to the economy by retooling their skills in the classroom.
