Summary Yalta, 4th February, 1945. At the close of war, the three most powerful men on earth gather to thrash out the details of peace: the cantankerous Winston Churchill, the idealistic but ailing Franklin Roosevelt, and Joseph Stalin, perhaps the bloodiest butcher of all time. Over eight days these men will lie, cheat and deceive each other as they struggle to find an agreement and secure their places in history. Meanwhile, as the smoke rises above Europe, a Polish soldier tries to make his way back home. He has cheated death many times but his luck is running out - though he'll still risk everything to find his daughter, missing in the ruins of Warsaw. For this man, and many like him, the enemy is everywhere.
