Summary When eight people arrive on the beautiful but remote Buidseach Island, they are ready for the challenge of a lifetime: to live alone for one year. Eighteen months later, a woman is found in an isolated fishing village. She's desperate to explain what happened to her: how the group fractured and friends became enemies; how they did what they must to survive until the boat came to collect them; how things turned deadly when the boat didn't come… But first Maddy must come to terms with the devastating secret that left them stranded, and her own role in the events that saw eight arrive and only three leave. A gripping, twisty page-turner about secrets, lies and survival at all costs. Perfect for fans of The Castaways, The Sanitorium and One by One. - The ultimate locked-in thriller: eight strangers arrive on a remote island, ready for the challenge of a lifetime. Only three will ever make it home.- Perfectly taps into the trend for locked-in and island thrillers.- A refreshing read for the huge market of crime and thriller for women: a genuinely action-packed story, with a relatable character arc, that explores the human instinct for survival at all costs.- The broad idea of escaping everything to live a simpler life will hold wide appeal at the moment - though certainly not with these consequences!- Perfect for fans of atmospheric thrillers like The Sanatorium by Sarah Pearse, The Survivors by Jane Harper, and Val McDermit's Karen Pirie books, with a focus on vivid and fierce settings, and survival against not just the enemy but the elements.· Sarah Goodwin is a debut author who completed the BA and MA in Creative Writing at Bath Spa. She also runs a book review podcast, called Witchfix. She lives in rural Hertfordshire.
