Wise-cracking Kerry Salter has spent her adulthood avoiding two things: her hometown and prison. A tough, generous, reckless woman accused of having too much lip, Kerry uses anger to fight the avalanche of bullshit the world spews. But now her Pop is dying and she's an inch away from the lockup, so she heads south on a stolen Harley for one last visit. Kerry plans to spend twenty- four hours, tops, across the border. She quickly discovers, though, that Bundjalung country has a funny way of latching on to people-not to mention her chaotic family and the threat of a proposal to develop a prison on Granny Ava's Island, the family's spiritual home. On top of that, love may have found Kerry again when a good-looking white fella appears out of nowhere with eyes only for her. As the fight mounts to stop the development, old wounds open. Surrounded by the ghosts of their Elders and the memories of their ancestors, the Salters are driven by the deep need to make peace with their past while scrabbling to make sense of their present. Kerry just hopes they can come together in time to preserve Granny Ava's legacy and save their ancestral land."--|cProvided by publisher. 650 0 Criminals|vFiction. 650 0 Grandfathers|vFiction. 650 0 Families|zAustralia|zQueensland|vFiction. 650 0 Aboriginal Australians|vFiction. 650 0 Man-woman relationships|vFiction. 650 7 Aboriginal Australians.|2fast|0(OCoLC)fst00794496 650 7 Criminals.|2fast|0(OCoLC)fst00883516 650 7 Families.|2fast|0(OCoLC)fst01728849 650 7 Grandfathers.|2fast|0(OCoLC)fst00946347 650 7 Man-woman relationships.|2fast|0(OCoLC)fst01007080 651 0 New South Wales|vFiction. 651 7 New South Wales.|2fast|0(OCoLC)fst01204788 651 7 Queensland.|2fast|0(OCoLC)fst01204261 655 7 Black humor.|2fast|0(OCoLC)fst01726518 655 7 Fiction.|2fast|0(OCoLC)fst01423787 655 7 Black humor (Literature)|2gsafd 655 7 Black humor.|2lcgft 776 08 |iOnline version:|aLucashenko, Melissa, 1967-|tToo much lip.|bFirst edition.|dNew York : HarperVia, [2020] |z9780063032552|w(DLC) 2020021740 938 Brodart|bBROD|n126421161 938 YBP Library Services|bYANK|n16614317 994 C0|bORL
