Obama takes listeners on a compelling journey from his earliest political aspirations to the pivotal Iowa caucus victory that demonstrated the power of grassroots activism to the watershed night of November 4, 2008, when he was elected 44th president of the United States, becoming the first African American to hold the nation's highest office. Reflecting on the presidency, he offers a unique and thoughtful exploration of both the awesome reach and the limits of presidential power, as well as singular insights into the dynamics of U.S. partisan politics and international diplomacy. 600 10 Obama, Barack. 650 0 Presidents|zUnited States|vBiography. 650 0 African American politicians|zUnited States|vBiography. 650 7 POLITICAL SCIENCE / American Government / General. |2bisacsh 650 7 BIOGRAPHY & AUTOBIOGRAPHY / Cultural, Ethnic & Regional / African American & Black.|2bisacsh 650 7 BIOGRAPHY & AUTOBIOGRAPHY / Presidents & Heads of State. |2bisacsh 650 7 POLITICAL SCIENCE / American Government / Executive Branch.|2bisacsh 650 7 HISTORY / United States / 21st Century.|2bisacsh 651 0 United States|xPolitics and government|y2009-2017. 655 7 Audiobooks.|2lcgft 655 7 Autobiographies.|2lcgft 994 C0|bORL
